Keon Caldwell is a native of Moultrie, Georgia. Keon was an athlete from early on, participating in football and baseball at Colquitt County High School where he was part of the 2003 state championship baseball team. After graduating high school, Keon went to work for a local roofing company and got his first introduction to MMA fighting. He started seriously training in mixed martial arts in 2006, and currently trains under Richard Cox with Team Reality in Moultrie, GA.
Keon had his first official bout on December 22, 2007 and won by knockout (KO) punch. After that, Keon went on to win his first seven bouts. Keon was also a contestant on the BET reality show Iron Ring. In 2011 Keon would face Johanthan Baldree for the SFC welterweight title belt, which he would claim with first round finish. On June 4, 2013 Keon got his big break by signing a multi-fight deal with the “World Series of Fighting” (WSOF) on NBC Sports, and he continues to fight under this contract.
Keon is a husband and father of two, working at local lumber yard Universal Forest Products when he is not training or fighting. Keon says he is lucky to have a family that supports him in any direction he is going. He looks forward to 2015 being a great year with his trainers keeping him in top-notch shape and most of all the Vereen Team getting him “Back In The Game.”
